The Reverend Mary A. Pullen

Rev. Mary A. Pullen hails from Asheboro, N.C. She was ordained in 1983, after graduation from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
She then joined the U.S. Army and was commissioned as a Chaplain (1st Lt.) in the Army Chaplain Corps. Assignments included service at Fort Campbell, Ky.; in Heidelburg, Germany; at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.; at Fort Bragg, N.C., in Haiti and Panama; and at Fort Bliss, Texas.
After retiring from the Army, she returned home to Asheboro. She served two interim pastorates in North Carolina. From September 2008 until March 2011, she was the Interim Head of Staff at Riverdale Presbyterian Church in University Park, Md.
Mary and her husband, Randy, live in Alexandria, Va. Randy, a career Army officer with numerous assignments in Field Artillery and Public Affairs, retired from the Army as a colonel in 2006.
Mary’s 26-year-old daughter, Amy, resides in Greensboro, N.C.
Randy and Mary have been foster parents for several rescue dogs. Currently, they are the “fur-baby” parents of their cat, Sasha. Mary is also an avid gardener, likes the beach, spinning classes, and vegetarian cooking.
The Reverend Dr. Deryl Fleming
Pastoral Associate
Rev. Dr. Fleming consults with churches and pastors, provides continuing education for clergy and community mental health education, and leads retreats and workshops. In addition, Deryl preaches and teaches at area churches including Burke Presbyterian Church. Deryl received a B.A degree from Baylor University, a B.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a D.Min from Wesley Theological Seminary. He was pastor at Lake Shore Baptist Church in Waco Texas from 1963 to 1974 and Ravensworth Baptist Church in Annandale Virginia from 1975 to 1991. From 1991 to 2008 Deryl served as the Director of Pastoral Care Services at Brooklane Health Services in Hagerstown Maryland.
