Mission
The Mission of Mission
Firmly grounded in our Christian faith and discipleship, we are called to exercise our faith by demonstrating the new reality of Jesus Christ in our lives and in the world. God sends the church into the world to:
- Feed the hungry,
- Comfort the grieving,
- Care for the sick,
- Free the captives,
- Shelter the homeless,
- Clothe the naked, and
- Befriend the lonely
God calls us to minister to the immediate needs and hurts of people and to confront those systems which create or foster brokenness and distortion. Christians respond to His call through acts of advocacy and compassion, through service in common ministries of the church, and through organizations committed to these ends. Through our various outreach programs, Burke Presbyterian Church provides numerous opportunities to serve God. Our Christian mission has three areas of focus -- local, national and international.
