The Reverend Dr. Elizabeth P. Braxton

Our pastor and head of staff, Dr. Beth Braxton, has been with Burke Presbyterian Church since the summer of 1984. For four years Beth was Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, New Jersey, before coming to Burke. Beth is a graduate of Wake Forest University with B.A. in religion, Union Theological Seminary in New York City, with M.R.E. (Masters in Religious Education), Drew Theological School in Madison, New Jersey, with M.Div, and Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia, with D.Min. Beth and Bob have one grown son, Peter, who is married to Jessica Carr. Beth loves the out-of-doors, cycling with family or friends, mission work camps, theatre and communicating the Good News!
The Reverend Dr. William Lowrey
Parish Associate
Dr. Lowrey holds a PhD from Union Institute in Inter-cultural organizational behavior and development, a Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. The Rev. Dr. Lowrey's full-time employment is as Director of Reconciliation and Peacebuilding with World Vision International.
The Reverend Dr. Deryl Fleming
Pastoral Associate
Rev. Dr. Fleming consults with churches and pastors, provides continuing education for clergy and community mental health education, and leads retreats and workshops. In addition, Deryl preaches and teaches at area churches including Burke Presbyterian Church. Deryl received a B.A degree from Baylor University, a B.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a D.Min from Wesley Theological Seminary. He was pastor at Lake Shore Baptist Church in Waco Texas from 1963 to 1974 and Ravensworth Baptist Church in Annandale Virginia from 1975 to 1991. From 1991 to 2008 Deryl served as the Director of Pastoral Care Services at Brooklane Health Services in Hagerstown Maryland.
