Adult Spiritual Growth
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the close of the age." (Matthew 28: 19-20)
The Spiritual Growth Ministry at Burke Presbyterian Church is dedicated to leading its participants in discipleship of Jesus Christ. Through Bible study, theological discourse, and spiritual disciplines we seek to help one another see with the eyes of faith and grow in perspective of what it means to live as Christians. We encourage and support one another in discerning God's Word for the living of these days.
Adult Education Ministry
At Burke Presbyterian Church, the Adult Education Ministry encourages members to seek God and to strengthen their faith as they journey in discipleship to Jesus Christ. We believe that one never graduates from Christian education; it is a life-long journey of growing in faith. In addition, we believe that only nurtured adults can truly nurture our children and youth. A variety of adult education programs are offered to meet the diversity of needs.
Adult education opportunities include:

Men's and Women's retreats are each held twice a year, offering a dedicated time of study, spiritual growth, and fellowship. The men have a weekend retreat in the fall and a one-day retreat in the spring. The women have a one-day retreat in the fall and a weekend retreat in the spring. A retreat for couples is held in February to enrich and strengthen couple relationships.
Small Groups
Small groups are intentional face-to-face gatherings for designated periods of time for the purpose of prayer, study, support, and fellowship. They are places of community building-a small community within our larger community. Many of the small groups form out of a specific need or interest in the congregation. It is in the small-group setting where we live out Christ's call to live in community and pray for and support one another.
Small group opportunities include:
- Christ Care Groups and Koinonia Groups (K-Groups)
- Bibles and Bagels
- MOB (Men of Burke)
- "Night Owls" group for Moms
