Members’ information is maintained confidentially, and visitors do not have to provide personal information to our organization unless the individual chooses to do so. To operate efficiently and keep members/visitors informed; however, various functions and groups within BPC do request and use items such as contact information. This information, if provided, will be protected to the best of our ability.

By visiting the BPC website at BurkePresChurch.org and/or agreeing to allow BPC to post any of your personal information on this site, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

Your Personal Information and How We Use It

BPC reserves the right to collect and/or use (as described above) two main types of information for or through our website:

  1. Personal or “individually identifiable information” you provide to us, either for posting on the website or when you complete online forms – examples would include email addresses, names, street addresses, phone numbers, photographs, etc. With your permission, we may use this information in web postings or contact you about BPC-related events.
  2. Standard web server/visitor traffic information, commonly referred to as “aggregate information,” regarding overall Web site traffic patterns. Normally, web servers collect this type of basic information automatically as part of their web log processes to administer the website more effectively and to help diagnose problems. We do not report on collected information on individual user sessions, but we reserve the right to share aggregate statistical information (e.g., the number of visitors to our website). These statistics do not include personal information.

I. Web Site Visitors

We may use aggregate information from your visit to better design our website. This information supplies us with a broad picture of how people use our website and helps us to better manage it and serve our audiences.

We may collect anonymous information from our web server about your visit to our site to monitor general traffic patterns. This information is collected and stored in log files. We may compile and analyze this information. Reports may include information such as the following:

  • total number of visitors
  • most visited pages
  • peak traffic times
  • service provider IP addresses
  • browser versions
  • referring web sites
  • search terms used
  • average number of pages requested
  • average duration of visit
  • total visitor traffic

There are instances when BPC may request individually identifiable information from its online users. For example, if you are contacting us to request information, we may request the following: first and last name, street address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, and email address.

If you do provide individually identifiable information, we will, with your permission, use this information to contact you about BPC-related events. As stated previously, BPC will NOT share your individually identifiable information, including your email address, with others (such as businesses or other organizations for their use in solicitation or other communication campaigns).

A Note About Cookies: BPC does not currently use “cookies.” If we see a need to do so in the future, it will only be to provide better service, and this policy will be updated. The use of “persistent” cookies will not be allowed. (A “cookie” is a small amount of information that is sent to your browser from a web server and is stored on your computer. A “persistent” cookie is retained on your hard drive for subsequent visits. Some websites use persistent cookies to track your personal use of their website. BPC does not track individuals or their use of our website.)

The inclusion of any link is provided only for information purposes.

II. Participants in Church Activities

We will post individually identifiable information (phone number, email, etc.) only when you specifically request/allow us to do so. Typically, this will occur when you desire to serve as a point of contact for an upcoming event, ongoing activity, etc. We will make every effort to use the church office as a global point of contact instead of posting any personal information to this website.

Also, to make our website more interesting, we periodically post photographs of various church activities. Adults (18 years or older) who attend BPC activities will be considered to have given implied consent for the posting of their images on the BPC website without specific personal identification. BPC will NOT identify subjects of posted photographs without their express consent. Identifiable images (i.e., frontal facial shots) of minors (under 18 years old) will only be used with the consent of their parents or guardians. Terms of Policy
