Youth Mission Projects

Senior High Mission Trip

Over Holy Week, five of our senior high youth traveled to Philadelphia to spend the week serving and growing in faith with Broad Street Ministries. Over the week, we helped get a garden at a senior apartment complex ready for spring, cleaned up a used book store that provides after-school reading programming to low-income children, packaged thousands of pounds of food at a food bank and served a hot meal to the homeless.

We slept in a church sanctuary and used public showers, and tried to understand some of what it's like to be homeless in that city. We even managed to explore historic Philadelphia and have a little fun, too!

Junior High Mission Week

Each August the junior highs participate in a weeklong mission project in inner-city Washington, D.C. In recent years this trip has been hosted by the Church of the Pilgrims (PCUSA) in northwest Washington, where the youth stay overnight and serve in local soup kitchens and organizations for the homeless.
