Throughout the month we will engage in a group book study of Debby Irving’s “Waking Up White.” It’s been called one of the most important books on race in recent memory. During the Sunday school hour in the church library, from April 8-29, we will explore this memoir that gives readers insight into the socialization process of white Americans. Our hope is that we gain new insights into the society we live in and learn how we might better listen to one another.
Another group will be meeting in the Conversation Corner to watch and discuss various TED Talks.
Both classes begin at 10:15 a.m.
These sessions are designed to be a refreshing gathering place and a conversational learning opportunity for parents of children who are attending Rainbow, although all are welcome. Group conversation might include the challenges and joys of finding and following ways to live and walk a life of faith in families, with children, and in a faith community.
