Youth Kickoff on Sunday, August 28!

For all youth (grades 7 – 12), Sunday, August 28 from 4 to 6pm ~ come to BPC for games, food, and fun! Bring a white t-shirt (one that it’s OK to ruin) and a towel. We’ll conclude the event with our annual Color Dust Competition (aka “tossing fun-run powder at each other”). You’ll want to have the towel to sit on for your ride home.

For parents of youth, Sunday, August 28 at 11:30am ~ please join us in the Gathering Space or on Zoom. We’d like to tell you all about our programs for youth, including Youth Connections, IMPACT Youth Choir, and the 2022-23 Confirmation Class.

Rummage Sale on Saturday, August 13 from 8am to noon

Our IMPACT Youth Choir is having a rummage sale on Saturday, August 13, from 8am to noon, inside at BPC, to help fund their annual music and mission tour. We are seeking “merchandise” to sell and welcome donations that are clean and in good condition. Household items, children’s clothes/toys/gear sell best. No old electronics or books other than children’s books. Thanks in advance for your support!

Our third and final SummerFest evening is Wednesday, August 3, from 6 to 8pm. We’ll hear from BPC Youth who just returned from the Montreat Youth Conference. Energizers, small groups, Lake Anna, rock hopping, key note and preaching, ‘tensil Tuesday, and back home groups… What is an energizer, you ask? What is a ‘tensil? What does their faith look and sound like? What does this community of BPC friends mean to them? And what hopes do they have for this church and The Church? Come and see. We are also so glad to welcome Sarah (Miller) Evans to BPC as she shares live music with us.

SummerFest is a time to gather, share a meal, and deepen our church connections on three consecutive Wednesdays at BPC from 6:00 to 8:00pm: July 20, July 27, and August 3. Each evening includes a church supper for all, followed by other activities and break out sessions. All are welcome — singles, pairs, families.

Parking Lot Picnic and Mission Fair

We’re kicking off summer with a Parking Lot Picnic and Mission Fair on Sunday, June 5 after the second service (so starting about 12:30pm). Come learn about the many ways that BPC helps our neighbors and enjoy time with our church community! Bring your own lunch. We’ll provide popsicles and ice cream sandwiches. And don’t forget, June 5 is the Day of Pentecost, so wear red!

Installation of Rev. Rebecca Messman on Sunday, May 15 at 3pm

Please join us for a community celebration! Everyone invited to Becca’s installation as our Senior Pastor on Sunday, May 15, at 3pm, in person and online. Renowned pastor Rev. Andrew Connors will preach,  visitors from Presbytery will arrive wearing all kinds of red stoles, mission and interfaith partners will be present, and you are most welcome! This event marks a new chapter in our church’s life and celebrates what God is doing in this place.

You are invited to bring with you a nonperishable food item for ECHO’s Food Room to help welcome our new neighbors. A few ideas are nuts, dates, vegetable bouillon, box rice, bag beans/lentils, green tea, and coffee.

If you plan to join us on Zoom, here’s a heads up: we will use red crepe paper streamers during the in-person service. If you have red streamers on hand or something similar around the house (such as a red scarf or towel), consider setting it aside for the service.

New Mask Policy

The Session recently voted that starting May 8, 2022, masks will be optional in the building except at the 9am Sunday worship service. In addition, individual groups, in coordination with their leaders, may maintain a mask requirement. Mask wearing is strongly encouraged during children’s programs, such as Sunday School, Godly Play, and Stepping Stones. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Healthy Church Team and the pastors via
