Youth Programs

Youth Programs

Here at Burke Presbyterian Church, we take seriously our baptismal promises to welcome and nurture all youth (7th-12th grades) on their journey of faith. All are welcome, whether you are comfortable naming where God is moving in your life or whether you have never before stepped foot in a church. BPC is committed to doing ministry with and for youth. We would love for you to join us! We offer a variety of ways to connect with God and with one another. Find more information about youth events on our calendar.

For more information about Youth Ministry at BPC and to find where you fit in, contact our church office at 703-764-0456 or office@BurkePresChurch.org.

Youth Connections

Sunday night is a time of fun and connection, when we explore spiritual questions, hang with friends, play a game or two, eat together, have conversations about faith and life in a small group, and try out spiritual practices.

IMPACT Youth Choir

IMPACT (Inspiring Music and Praise, Acclaiming Christ Together) welcomes all youth in grades 7-12 to sing a variety of music, from traditional to contemporary to gospel. IMPACT rehearses weekly and leads regularly in worship. The summer IMPACT tour shares the love of Jesus Christ through music, typically singing in churches and nursing homes, doing service projects and time for fun and recreation.

Youth Council

Youth are invited to take ownership of their ministry, in collaboration with adult volunteers. Our Youth Council leadership team meets periodically to imagine, plan, and lead programs for their peers.

Mission

We take part in a variety of hands-on projects, which have included working for people who need food and clean water, people who are homeless, and people who struggle with mental health issues.

Retreats

We travel together, with destinations such as Montreat Conference Center in the mountains of North Carolina, Massanetta Springs Middle School Conference in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and The Center in Baltimore, Maryland. We also go camping, have a sabbath treat for older youth, and have a senior retreat for our 12th graders.
