Bikes for the World Collection Report 2024

This report was written by Earl Smith. The Bikes for the World (BFW) collection sponsored by both St Mary’s Catholic Church and Burke Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 13 was a great success. We collected 100 bikes.  The bikes will be part of the next shipment going to Costa Rica in the near future. BFW can usually get about 450 to 500 bikes in a shipping container. The BFW rep who picked up our bikes recently returned from a trip to one…

The remaining 60% is used to support children-at-risk, youth, and young…

Help Restock ECHO’s Food Room

ECHO continues to need more food than it receives in donations. Their January collection was low due to two snow days and the holiday closure. Please consider adding some of these items that are in low supply: canned meat, tinned fish, instant coffee, spaghetti sauce, honey, condiments, onion and garlic powder, salt, lemon juice, evaporated and condensed milk, and juice. Please place your gifts in the mission center cabinet across from the kitchen; we will deliver them early each week.…

ECHO Food Drive

September is the month BPC makes a special effort to collect food for ECHO.  During the height of the pandemic, the need for basic groceries increased dramatically, and donors stepped up. Followed by supply chain disruptions, soaring food costs due to inflation, and now the end of pandemic related subsidies, the need in our community seems to be growing. ECHO distributes approximately 11,000 pounds of food each month, but recently food donations have not met the increasing requests. We hope…
